BRIEF SUMMARY

SAIB at a glance

The Argentine Society for Biochemical Research, currently named as Argentine Society for Research in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology  (SAIB), was founded on March 15th, 1965. Since then, with tenacity and determination, SAIB is fully committed to the aims proposed by its founders:

Bring together those who carry out original research in the field of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, with the aim of exchanging information.

Promote the advancement of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Stimulate links with similar entities from different countries or international organizations that exist or are being created; promote congresses, conferences, studies, publications, libraries and any activity related to the development of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

Throughout its long history, SAIB has been chaired by the most eminent scientists in the area and has more than 1,100 members incorporated into the following categories: Active Members, Corresponding Members, Adherent Members and Honorary Members.

All biochemistry specialties are represented in Sections with defined thematic areas: Cellular Biology, Lipids, Microbiology, Plant Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Signal Transduction, Biotechnology, Neurosciences and Enzymology.

SAIB annual meeting is the most important event organized by our Society and takes place between the months of October-November.
